Niagara Falls boat tour datasets

These files are the same data that drives the prices, hours and charts on this site, so the numbers match the pages. They are small and plain by design. Read the caveats for each file before you use it, because several values are contested or approximate. The methodology explains how they were gathered, and the changelog records changes.

Files at a glance

boat-tour-prices-2026.csv

Columns: operator, country, currency, ticket, price, tax, ages, source, checked. Prices are per person in the stated currency. The tax column says how tax is treated; where an operator does not state it, the cell reads "not stated". The source column holds the URL, and checked holds the date (YYYY-MM-DD). Preview:

Sources: Maid of the Mist's schedule and pricing page; Niagara Parks' attraction page and Niagara Falls Tourism for the two Canadian child fares. Caveats: Maid of the Mist does not state its tax treatment; it says only that the price includes the elevator. The Niagara City Cruises adult price is a "from" price, because the operator's own page says only "starting at". The two child rows conflict and are both included on purpose. The "13+" age label on the Maid of the Mist adult row is our reading, since the operator publishes a child fare for ages 6 to 12 and free entry for ages 5 and under.

Columns: operator, start, end, open, weekday_close, weekend_close, note, source, checked. Dates are YYYY-MM-DD and times use the 24-hour clock in local Niagara Falls time. Each Maid of the Mist row is a block of dates with one opening time (09:00) and closing times for weekdays and weekends. The final row gives the Niagara City Cruises 2026 opening date and its published first and last sailing times.

Sources: Maid of the Mist's schedule and pricing page, and the Niagara City Cruises ticket page. Caveats: operators say schedules may change without notice. One Maid of the Mist block (August 31 to September 3) shows a closing time of "500" on the operator's page, which we read as 5:00 pm. Niagara City Cruises has not published its extended hours from May 15, a closing date, or 2027 dates. The file covers 2026 only.

monthly-climate-niagara-falls.csv

Columns: month, avg_high_c, avg_low_c, precip_days, rain_mm, snow_cm, thunder_days, sunrise_15th, sunset_15th, source. Temperatures are in degrees Celsius. precip_days counts days with at least 0.2 mm of precipitation. Rain is in millimetres and snow in centimetres. thunder_days is the average number of thunderstorm days in the month. Sunrise and sunset are local clock times (daylight time from March 8 to November 1, 2026) for the 15th of the month.

Sources: Environment and Climate Change Canada climate normals for Niagara Falls NPCSH (Climate ID 6135657), 1981-2010. Sun times are computed by us with the NOAA algorithm for 43.080 N, 79.074 W. Caveats: the normals are 30-year averages that end in 2010, not forecasts, and ECCC's 1991-2020 normals could not be reached. Sun times are accurate to about plus or minus three minutes. A single JSON object that feeds the interactive tools. It includes the checked date, Maid of the Mist and Niagara City Cruises fares and dates, Niagara Parks attraction prices, WEGO fares, Falls Incline Railway fares, Skylon and SkyWheel prices, pass prices, falls illumination times, the 2026 fireworks window, Rainbow Bridge tolls, the optional add-on prices for our Toronto day tour, climate and sun tables, and drive times from major origins. Units follow the CSV files: Canadian prices in CAD, Maid of the Mist in USD, times on the 24-hour clock.

Caveats: the structure is built for our own tools and may change without notice, so read the "checked" field and check the keys you use. Drive times are free-flow OSRM estimates with no traffic or border wait. The monthly visitation ranking comes from Niagara Falls Tourism and is not a count.

Licence and citation

The data is released under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 licence (CC BY 4.0). You may copy, adapt and use it, including commercially, if you credit niagarafallsboattours.com and link to this page. A suitable citation is: "Niagara Falls Boat Tours, boat tour prices 2026, niagarafallsboattours.com, verified October 17, 2026". The underlying facts belong to their original publishers; the licence covers our compilation, not the operators' brands or pages. Prices and dates change, so do not treat the files as a booking source.

Using the data well

• Check the checked date before you quote a price.
• Convert currency yourself. The files do not convert, and the two operators price in different currencies.
• Treat blank cells as unpublished, not as zero.
• If you find an error, tell us through the contact page and we will log the fix in the changelog.
